Survey of math students at Scottsdale Community College

Type: Evidence | Hypothesis: Student impact | Polarity: | Sector: | Country:

A study of student perceptions of OER at the mathematics department at Scottsdale Community College found a strong level of satisfaction with the quality of OER provided (indicated by the perceived degree of support and the willingness to share materials with others.)

It’s worth noting that OER adoption didn’t translate into better student grades but didn’t result in worsening grades either. Hilton III et al also report that up to a quarter of a million dollars worth of savings were made by students during this pilot of math OER during Fall 2012.
