West Virginia: allowing inclusion of open resources as instructional materials (SB 631)

In 2010 legislation was introduced in West Virginia (WV) that modified the process for approval and adoption of instructional resources in public schools; replaced the terms “textbooks”, “instructional materials” and “learning technologies” with “instructional resources”, and allowed that instructional materials submitted by vendors or available as open resources may be reviewed for compliance.
